12 sessions are recommended over the summer.
Using the five pillars of reading instruction, our tutors provide personalized support that meets your child where they are and helps them grow at their own pace.
Listening for Sounds (Phonemic Awareness)
Children learn to hear, identify, and work with the sounds in words. These early skills are the foundation for reading and spelling success.
Connecting Letters & Sounds (Phonics)
Students learn how letters and letter combinations represent sounds, helping them decode unfamiliar words and become more independent readers.
Reading Smoothly and Confidently (Fluency)
Through guided practice, children improve their reading accuracy, speed, and expression, making reading feel easier and more enjoyable.
Building Vocabulary
Strong readers need strong word knowledge. We help students expand their vocabulary and better understand the words they encounter in books and everyday life.
Understanding What They Read (Comprehension)
Reading is about more than recognizing words. We teach students how to think about, discuss, and understand the meaning of what they read.
- Personalized one-to-one instruction
- Engaging activities tailored to your child's needs
- A strong foundation for success in the upcoming school year
- Increased reading confidence and independence
- Reinforce key grade 10 science concepts required for success in grade 11
- Introduce foundational concepts in biology, chemistry, and/or physics
- Develop problem-solving, analytical thinking, and lab-based reasoning
- Build strong study habits specific to science courses
- Increase student confidence entering a high-demand academic stream
It is recommended as a 12-session x 1 hour program over the summer.
The transition from grade 10 science to grade 11 science pathways (biology, chemistry, and physics) represents a significant academic shift. Students move from general science to specialized, content-heavy, and fast-paced courses that are foundational for post-secondary programs in STEM, health sciences, and skilled trades or Engineering. Many students enter grade 11 unprepared for the rigor, resulting in declining grades and loss of confidence.
Flexible Streams:
It is recommended as a 12-session x 1 hour program over the summer.
The transition from grade 9 to grade 10 math is a pivotal point in a student’s academic trajectory. Grade 10 math serves as a gateway course, directly influencing a student’s ability to pursue senior-level mathematics (Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus) and a wide range of post-secondary programs. Many students complete Grade 9 with gaps in foundational skills, which become significantly more pronounced in grade 10. Without early intervention, these gaps often lead to declining performance, reduced confidence, and limited academic pathways.
- Introduce key grade 10 topics and expectations
- Reinforce essential grade 9 math concepts
- Strengthen problem-solving and algebraic thinking
- Build confidence and reduce math anxiety
- Develop effective study and test-taking strategies
